MAYOR GONE WILD

Mayor Jason Morrison has begun a project to get 30% of all land opened up for anyone, from anywhere, to use. He wants to change Wentworth from the peaceful out-of-the-way community we have now, into a TOURIST DESTINATION FOR THE MASSES. He lays out his plan in two pamphlets he authored as Chief of the Wild Project.   (Here’s a picture of a line from his WILD pamphlet.)

The tool he’s using is called WILD. He pretends it’s the natural outgrowth of the desire of the citizens of Wentworth. Here is a direct quote from the WILD pamphlet: “WILD evolved from the desire of the citizens of Wentworth …” (Here’s another picture from his pamphlet.)

It’s notable that the French version says it was BORN in Wentworth. (Another picture.)

In fact, WILD is the creation of a big organization with 17 employees called Eco Corridors Laurentiens. They say: “Que vous soyez une municipalité, un·e propriétaire foncier·ère, un organisme ou un·e citoyen·ne engagé·e, nos services sont adaptés à votre réalité.”

That activist group is in turn the creation of another group, which is an offspring of a huge international organization called “U.N. Local Agenda 21”, which is a route by which outside political activists infiltrate local governments to try and impose their ideology. (Among other methods, they sponsor lake associations.)

They say, “One of the key provisions of Agenda 21 is the rethinking of land use. It suggests that private land ownership is unsustainable and advocates for greater public control over land resources … aiming for 30% of Canadian lands to be government/public-privately managed by 2030”.

HERE’S WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU

  1. This all happens in PERPETUITY, so pay attention.
  1. The 30% of land will not pay taxes. That means you may pay 30% more taxes.
  1. The land will require surveying, parking space, toilets, and the creation of trails. Mayor Morrison claims these costs will be paid by a WILD trust, but that money is not showing up and Wentworth is paying the cost. Here’s a sample extract of a Municipal Council meeting on March 2024:

“WHEREAS the Municipality of the Township of Wentworth undertakes to assume all costs related to the transaction, including any costs related to the regularization of titles and any notary fees or related transaction costs.”

In other words, you’re probably going to end up paying all these extra cost in your taxes.

  1. In addition, the land will require ongoing maintenance costs, administration, and liability insurance in case some tourist gets hurt. Your tax bill is probably going to fund this also.
  1. The land will be acquired in one of two ways:

(A) It’s bought from the owner, which is probably another cost for you. Morrison’s pamphlet says “we will be required to purchase most of the land we acquire”. So you and me are going to be buying and paying for the land and costs that everyone else, from everywhere, will be using.

(B) The land is donated, and the donor gets a charitable receipt.

  1. Apart from all the extra costs, here’s what SCARES ME THE MOST. Imagine someone at Clear Lake, for instance, dies and bequeaths their property to WILD. As soon as that is done, anyone in the world can come to that lake, set up a tent, and go kayaking on the lake. If you have ever tried to make a reservation at one of Quebec’s nature reserves, you’ve seen how many people have reserved camping spots. Dunany is much closer to Montreal than those nature preserves, and Clear Lake will fill up with tourists as soon as the word gets out. Everything I say about Clear lake applies to every other lake in Dunany, Grace Park & Diamond Valley.

In the previous article I’M IN SHOCK, I showed how Mayor Morrison opened up Louisa to anyone with a boat and $50. It seems that Morrison is trying to turn Wentworth into a tourist destination for people who don’t live here, while we (Wentworth taxpayers) shoulder an invasion and a lot of costs.

WHY WOULD MAYOR MORRISON DO THINGS THAT HURT US?

Does he have political ambitions beyond Wentworth? As it is, he’s the MRC Environmental representative, and he’s on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Federation of Municipalities. The MRC’s previous Environmental Rep was Agnes Grondin, who’s now the Quebec MP for Argenteuil. Moving up the political ladder doesn’t seem out of the question for Morrison, and his record in turning Wentworth into a public space may help him along that path.

I don’t know what’s truly on his mind, BUT HE’S GOT ME SCARED AS HELL.

If you vote for Morrison you damn well better know what you’re voting for!
